Porta Romana

Biography

“It is always thrilling to work on architectural and interior design projects which command a high level of attention, perhaps through the nature of the design, the location or the talents of the individuals involved. Admiralty Arch fulfils that brief in abundance, and has given us the opportunity to work on our doorstep, supporting a project with a real historic significance. The level of detail through the lighting selection process could be matched only by our own obsessiveness so we are delighted that the pieces chosen will show our skills at their very best too. Our work with Admiralty Arch and its partners has been highly collaborative and built a relationship which is unusual on a hospitality project of this scale. It is a huge privilege to be involved and we cannot wait to see the end results!”

Alison Milam, Managing Director

Porta Romana began life in 1988 in a tiny London workshop. From the beginning, the ambition was to create beautiful and inspiring pieces that would be loved. Good fortune came in finding skilled British craftspeople to create the quirky and original designs. The Porta Romana style and design language has continuously evolved over the following quarter century to become a leading global brand, and a critical ingredient in the world’s most beautiful houses, yachts, hotels and movie sets. They still work with many of our original artisans, and continue to seek out the finest artistic talent, to help breathe fresh life into their collections.
